Product information
THIN FILM ANTIFOULING is an amazingly thin-layered, very fast-drying hard antifouling. The surface is extremely smooth, hard and therefore very low-friction. The fouling protection for underwater use is suitable for sailing and motor boats in fresh or salt water. It is a very popular antifouling for inland areas such as Lake Constance. Not recommended for warm waters. THIN FILM ANTIFOULING is suitable for use on GRP, wood and steel. Do not use on aluminium.

FIELD OF APPLICATION

Reliable anti-fouling protection
Low layer build-up
Can be painted over directly
Suitable for motor and sailing boats
Area of application: all northern European waters - inland and coastal areas
PRODUCT DATA

Content: 0.75 litre
Colour: graphite, matt
Dilution and cleaning of tools: ANTIFOULING THINNER
Coverage: approx. 9 - 10 m² / litre

PROCESSING

Substrate preparation: The substrate must be clean, dry and free of grease. Old coatings must be intact and well adhered. Check compatibility with old antifoulings in the substrate. THIN FILM ANTIFOULING is compatible with other commercially available thin film antifoulings. It can be painted over directly and without preparatory work during a seasonal renewal coat.

If necessary, sand the old coating and carefully remove the sanding dust.

Prime with the two-component EPOXY PRIMER when applying a new coat.

Application temperature: Can be applied in dry weather and at temperatures between +10°C and +30°C.

Apply with a fur roller. Add the powder to the can under the bonnet and mix thoroughly with the antifouling. After mixing, use up the contents within 7 days. We recommend 2 coats for a new build and approx. 1 coat per season as a renewal coat. An additional coat should be applied to particularly stressed areas such as the waterline.

Recoating interval: approx. 20 minutes (20°C)

Waiting time before allowing to soak: min. 30 minutes, max. unlimited

Please note: The final colour shade is only achieved after permanent exposure to water.

Do not reuse empty containers. Use biocides safely. Always read the labelling and product information before use.

Antifouling for your boat

Over time, the paint on your boat weathers and loses its former beautiful lustre. This also means that the boat's hull is no longer protected. To restore your boat to its original appearance, it needs to be repainted.
