Boat heating - which heating system makes sense for your boat and yacht

When it gets cool outside in autumn, the temperature in the boat also drops quickly. Below 10 °C it becomes very uncomfortable on board. Nevertheless, there are good reasons to stay on board even in cooler weather. Whether sailing yacht or houseboat, there are plenty of reasons for a boat heater on many vessels. But which heater is right for you and your boat?

>>> To the guide: What heaters are actually available for boats?

Simple boat heating

Petroleum heaters and fan heaters are simple and inexpensive heating systems for your boat. The ceramic fan heaters from Eurom are very suitable if you want to keep your boat warm easily, for example when working on the boat. These heating systems can be used on smaller or well-insulated boats if they are rarely needed.

Powerful infrared systems

Infrared radiant heaters are often used as patio heaters and mushroom heaters. The systems from Enders can be operated with both gas and electricity. The advantage of these systems lies in the radiant heat they emit. This means that the heat is used specifically where it is needed. This is why infrared systems can also be used on deck. If you are looking for a weatherproof patio heater, the Florenz and Madeira electric systems from Enders are a very good choice. For larger boats, choose a mushroom heater such as the Enders Fancy Gas, as this has a higher output. Another option is the Polo 2.0, which at 1.2 metres high is designed to be exactly the same height as a person's seat.

Powerful heating systems

A very convenient and economical option for heating a boat is a parking heater. Wallas offers a wide range of these products with outputs from 1200 to 4500 watts. With the Vikingair system from Wallas, a boat of up to 110 cubic metres can be heated for several days. Depending on the output, you can choose a diesel or petroleum-fuelled parking heater. With the Planar 2D 44D / Autoterm Air 12V from the manufacturer Autoterm (formerly Planar), you get a compact and powerful diesel heater. Due to the low noise level, the parking heaters are very well suited to significantly warm up cabins on board. Due to their low consumption, parking heaters are also very suitable for longer periods of use.
