Eyelets and hooks for the boat cover

A boat cover, also known as a tarpaulin, is used to completely cover the boat and protect it from environmental influences. This mainly includes wind, water, sunlight and bird droppings. At the same time, the tarpaulin protects the boat from unauthorised access. Optimally tensioned over the boat using eyelets and tarpaulin hooks, the boat tarpaulin ensures that water drains away immediately so that no water can accumulate on the tarpaulin.

You need at least one tarpaulin!

It is not only the hull of the boat that is usually protected with a boat cover. We can also provide you with weather protection for the outboard motor or a complete protective cover for the entire engine. Special winter protection is recommended for the colder seasons.

As every boat is unique, you will also need some small parts - the accessories for attaching the tarpaulin. This includes tarpaulin hooks or tarpaulin eyelets as well as a suitable hole punch to fasten the eyelets in the tarpaulin.

Fastening details

It may be necessary to purchase a support shaft. The shaft ensures that the boat cover is stretched out in the centre of the boat like a tent. This allows the aforementioned water drainage on all sides. This is not necessary for all boats. If you have any questions, we will be happy to advise you at any time!

The tarpaulin eyelets are placed in the punched-out hole and reinforce it. Pull a rope through the eyelets. This rope allows you to tension the tarpaulin along the edge of the boat in the hooks attached there and thus prevent water and small animals from entering. Some boats already have devices on the edge of the boat that allow the eyelets to be hooked in even without a rope. Talk to us so that you really get the right accessories for your boat tarpaulin!

Tarpaulin hooks or eyelets?

If you don't like the eyelets so much because you are afraid that the holes punched into the boat cover will fray over time, we recommend tarpaulin hooks for fastening the tarpaulin instead. These are pushed onto the fabric along the edge of the tarpaulin. Tarpaulin eyelets are placed on the outer edge of the fabric all the way round. The hook in the flap of the so-called tarpaulin hooks clings to the fabric to withstand the pressure of the tensioned boat tarpaulin. You can then thread the rope through the eyelets of the tarpaulin hooks and attach the boat tarpaulin properly. The advantage of the tarpaulin hooks is that they extend the tarpaulin slightly. This may be helpful if you want to use the tarpaulin for a slightly larger boat.
