Classic Nautical Charts

In addition to electronic nautical charts, classic nautical charts are still part of the mandatory basic equipment on board. In times when GPS, chart plotters and digital maps are not only automatically corrected via updates and supplied with current national and international data such as weather and news, classic nautical charts seem superfluous. Whether under sail or motor, experienced sailors do not do without the classic nautical chart, navigation equipment or their compass for safe navigation. After all, if you rely on rough estimates when navigating, you will quickly lose your course and your own position.

Buying pleasure craft charts: safety on board

Whether on the Baltic Sea, the North Sea or the Mediterranean, on the Atlantic or in the Caribbean: sailors should never do without classic nautical charts and up-to-date data on the sailing area.

At sea, especially in times of convenient electronic data, safety always takes precedence over convenience, which is why a set of up-to-date, classic paper charts on board means extra safety for crew and ship. Because they do not fail even in heavy weather. With all electronic equipment on board, this can happen in a storm.
