General terms and conditions

Ordering - normal delivery service

Once we receive your order, we take care of the items you require. Please allow delivery times up to 3 to 14 working days (usually up to 10 working days) with DHL/Parcelforce.

General shipping costs

We charge prorated shipping costs per order. P&P £ 17.00.

For bulky goods we calculate additional shipping charges:
Bulky goods surcharge: £ 34.90
Bulky goods surcharge (S): £ 19.90
Surcharge for bulky items (over 2.00m and/or 31kg) / batteries / petrol outboard motors up to 10HP: £ 69.90
Surcharge for shipping with a freight forwarder: £ 179.00

This service is a special service specified by you. The surcharge will therefore also be payable, if you make use of your 14-day right of return. Delivery times for bulky items may be longer than for standard delivery due to increased processing time.

You bear the costs of the return shipment in the amount of the original shipping costs. We will refund the purchase price of the delivered goods.

Electronic devices may not be disposed of with normal household waste. Consumers may also dispose of their old electronic devices at municipal points.

Bulk purchases

The offered items are only available in normal quantities for consumers. Tax-free delivery to companies is not possible.

How to order

Follow the following steps

  1. Add your items to the shopping basket.
  2. Login or register.
  3. Enter your delivery and payment details.
  4. Confirm that the information is correct on the confirmation page.
  5. Click on the “Place order” button. You can find the information about the time of the conclusion of the contract in the appropriate section of our General Terms & Conditions.
You submit a binding offer when you complete the online ordering process by entering the information required and clicking the "Place order” button in the last order step.

Once you have placed your order, we will send you an email confirming receipt of your order and listing the order details (confirmation of receipt).

This confirmation does not represent an acceptance of your offer; it merely serves to inform you that your order has been received. You will receive all the customer information by the time of delivery of the goods at the latest. You should print this information for your records. The purchase contract is concluded only with the shipment of the items you have ordered.

Prices and Payment methods

All prices in the online shop are in pounds sterling (£) and include V.A.T. at the current rate. VAT will be changed should the government raise or lower the VAT rate. Prices are exclusive P&P. We accept MasterCard, Visa and PayPal.

Warranty

The period of limitation for statutory defect claims is 2 years and commences on the date of delivery, i.e., the receipt of the goods by the buyer.

Power of Cancellation

Consumers have a statutory right of cancellation. A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly outside their trade, business or profession.

Right of Withdrawal

You have the right of withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the goods.

To exercise your right of cancellation, you must inform us

of your decision to withdraw from this contract by means of a clear declaration (e.g. by means of a letter sent in the post, or an email to info@compass24.com).

To comply with the deadline for cancellation, it is sufficient that you send the notification of your decision to exercise your right of cancellation before the end of the cancellation period.

Effects of Withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, with the exception of the costs of return in the amount of the original delivery costs, including the additional costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us, e.g. express surcharge), without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. For this repayment, we will use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you (e.g. payment by cheque); under no circumstances will you be charged any fees for this repayment.

We may refuse to refund you until we have received the goods back or until you have provided proof that you have returned the goods, whichever is the earliest.

You must return the goods to us immediately and in any event no later than fourteen days from the date on which you notify us of the cancellation of this contract. The deadline is met if you dispatch the goods before the period of fourteen days has expired.

You bear the costs of the return shipment in the amount of the original shipping costs. We will refund the purchase price of the delivered goods.

You must only pay for any loss in value of the goods if this loss in value can be attributed to an unnecessary measure to check the condition, quality and function of the goods.

Only returns to DHL are accepted, all other carriers are at your own risk.

Unless the parties have agreed otherwise, the right of cancellation does not apply to the following contracts:

for the supply of goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised;

for the supply of goods which are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly;

for the supply of sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons and were unsealed after delivery;

for the supply of goods which are, after delivery, according to their nature, inseparably mixed with other items;

for the supply of alcoholic beverages, whose price has been agreed at the time of the conclusion of the sales contract, whose delivery can only take place after 30 days and the actual value of which is dependent on fluctuations in the market which cannot be controlled by the trader;

where the consumer has specifically requested a visit from the trader for the purpose of carrying out urgent repairs or maintenance. If, during the visit, the trader provides services that are additional to those specifically requested by the consumer (i.e. repair or maintenance), the right of withdrawal will apply to those additional services or goods. Similarly, if during the visit the trader supplies goods other than the replacement parts necessary to carry out the repair or maintenance, the right of withdrawal shall apply to these goods;

for the supply of sealed audio or video recordings, or sealed computer software, which were unsealed after delivery;

for the supply of a newspaper, periodical or magazine with the exception of subscription contracts for the supply of such publications.

Complaints / dispute resolution

From 15 February 2016 the EU Commission will provide a platform for out-of-court dispute resolution. This gives consumers an initial opportunity to settle disputes arising in connection with online orders without the intervention of a court. Youth protection

In the spirit of responsible handling of alcoholic beverages, we sell and deliver our beers exclusively to persons who have reached the age of 18. Accordingly, we do not sell alcoholic beverages to children and young people. By sending the order or purchasing on site, the customer confirms as the orderer or purchaser that he/she has reached the age of 18, has full legal capacity and undertakes to provide his/her date of birth for verification of age by Compass or a third party commissioned by Compass.

Place of jurisdiction

If the private end-user is not domiciled within the European Union, the place of jurisdiction shall be the place of our registered office.

For transactions with consumers within the European Union, the mandatory consumer protections laws of the customer's place of residence may also apply.

Important information

We will keep information on any orders you place with Compass confidential. What information do we store?

Within the framework stipulated by the legal provisions, we collect personal details that are necessary for the establishment and modification of purchase contracts. These include your name, address and date of birth. Your date of birth is required to distinguish you from customers with the same or similar names. Compass saves your address details for its own advertising purposes and allows carefully selected companies to contact you with interesting offers and information for advertising purposes. We sometimes use external service providers to conduct technical aspects of data processing. If you no longer wish to receive offers and information, you can object to the use of your information by us or third parties for advertising purposes at any time by contacting us at the above address or by sending an email to info@compass24.com.
