Odeo Flare™ MK3

Odeo stands for Omni Directional Electrical Optical Signal and is an innovative replacement and improvement of conventional hand-held flares.

Conventional emergency flares light up for around 60 seconds before they go out. The Odeo Flare™ lights for approximately 5 hours at full brightness. As no pyrotechnics are used, the Odeo Flare™ is completely safe, even when switched off, and as it is powered by batteries, it can even be safely shipped or carried in luggage on flights.

Originally designed for marine use, its light weight and safe performance makes it of great use in all outdoor activities such as mountaineering, skiing, expeditions etc. without the dangers of carrying a pyrotechnic beacon.

The Odeo Flare™ was developed with SOLAS requirements in mind and is therefore a real alternative to the pyrotechnic red hand flare. The Odeo Flare™ also emits an SOS signal during its flash pattern, making it an internationally recognised distress signal.

The Odeo Flare is powered by either 3 x L91 lithium batteries or 3 x AA alkaline batteries. These batteries have the required durability and power capacity and operate in an extended temperature range.
