Product information "McMurdo FastFind ReturnLink PLB marine transceiver"
World novelty! PLB with distress call acknowledgement - McMurdo FastFind ReturnLink PLB The world's first PLB with distress call acknowledgement is now available. McMurdo is thus extending its technical lead in emergency call transmitters. The EPIRB G8AIS is already the only EPIRB worldwide with an additional AIS distress signal. The McMurdo FastFind ReturnLink PLB signals the person in danger to receive the distress signal. To do this, it uses the unique functionality of the Return Link Service (RLS) generated by Galileo satellites. Blue LED signalling confirms to the user the reception of the 406MHz distress call and the Galileo GNSS location coordinates. The new Galileo GNSS satellites are part of Cospas Sarsat's MEOSAR upgrade programme and now comprise 26 satellites out of a total of 30 planned. The McMurdo FastFind ReturnLink PLB transmits and receives multiple signals simultaneously: Transmits 406 MHz via Cospas Sarsat to the worldwide professional emergency service, Receives GNSS coordinates from Galileo and GPS satellites and transmits with 406MHz signal to regularly update the location, Once the location is confirmed, the PLB receives the Galileo RLS signal and activates the blue LED, Transmits 121.5 MHz homing signal to speed up the positioning. In Germany, PLBs can only be registered as EPIRBs with the programming of an MMSI. In other countries, personalised registration is possible, depending on regional regulations. Technical data: Lithium battery with 5 years lifetime, transmission time more than 24 hrs, water protected up to 10 m depth, dimensions: 36 x 50 x 112 mm, weight 164 g, belt clip and neoprene pouch included.
