Product information "Garmin rudder reference transducer GRF10"
Pair this sensor with the GHP 12 to get rudder position feedback and detect and avoid rudder strikes when sailing or boating. The GRF 10 uses a magnetic sensor to relay position information. This prevents abrasion that leads to wear and tear on other sensors. The arm of the GRF 10 is connected to the rudder of the boat and transmits position information via the sensor to the skipper. The skipper thus knows the rudder position and gets additional safety when starting after stopping, docking, launching or sailing at low speeds. In addition, the GRF 10 offers the following: Knowledge of rudder position without looking aft Execution of smoother manoeuvres and avoidance of overcompensation Avoidance of unnecessary wear on the autopilot system by eliminating forces on the rudder when it is already stopped left or right.
