Carbo Ratchets allow the sailor to hold a sheet under load by hand, for the right balance of holding power and controlled yawing. The nylon resin stringers are reinforced with densely layered long glass fibers to create a compact block with a high load-to-mass ratio. The milled washers are Hard Lube anodized for strength and corrosion resistance. The eight bevels hold the sheet securely.
